In its fourth generation as a general contractor, Hoffman Cortes has deep roots in the Kansas City area.

Founded in 1921, by Morris Hoffman, Hoffman Cortes was built on integrity with the clients’ needs at heart. Hoffman involved his daughter and son-in-law, Carlos and Florence Cortes, in the company who, in turn, entrusted the business to their son, Gary Cortes, who began as a laborer at the age of 14. After earning his degree in Civil Engineering from Rice University he joined the firm full-time in 1962. He carried on the practices of producing quality results on every construction management project. In 1972, Gary became president and led the company for 26 years. In 1994, Gary’s daughter, Rita Cortes joined the firm as vice president and chief financial officer. In 1998, she became president and continued the legacy of the providing quality construction.
