New Masonry Completes Miller Nichols Library Work

Miller Nichols LibraryThe company’s new masonry division recently completed construction for two projects on the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) campus.

The Miller Nichols Library at the heart of the campus near 51st & Rockhill Road needed increased student learning space and updates throughout. The exterior of the building was completely renovated using Indiana limestone. The interior expanded to include the university’s new automated high-density storage and retrieval system, intended to relocate collections to increase space.

Our new masonry division also completed work on the new UMKC Student Union on the west side of the campus. With 14,000 students, UMKC anticipates a more than 20 percent growth in enrollment by 2011 and needed a new facility to meet the needs of its growing student population.
